What to expect

What I need from you on the day

  • Please ensure you have eaten before your appointment.

  •  We are cash only so please organise to get cash out prior to our appointment. I will try and quote you as best as I can online however if there are changes to your design or you want your piece larger than discussed there may be an additional fee.

  • Please bring your ID to your appointment (I cannot tattoo you without it).

  • Please try and stay as still as possible during our appointment. If you move, I move and this will affect the outcome of your tattoo. Whilst phones are allowed during your session, I ask that you please reframe from using it as much as possible during your tattoo. If you need any breaks during your appointment please let me know and we can take a break.

  • Let me know if you are feeling faint or lightheaded. This is super common so don’t stress, we will take a break and let you get some fresh air.

  • I ask that you please come to your appointment alone. You can bring snacks/drinks, earphones, blanket or pillow to make yourself more comfortable during your session.

  • For long sessions I recommend you bring some sugary drinks/snacks which will help you sit through your tattoo. The studio can get a little chilly at times so if you’d like to bring a jumper to stay cosy feel free.

Numbing Cream
Please consult with me before using numbing cream.

Depending on the area and type of tattoo you may not be able to use numbing cream. Please do not show up to your appointment with it on before checking with me. This may result in us rescheduling your appointment and your deposit will be forfeited.

I will not tattoo clients under the age of 18. Regardless of parental consent.

Aftercare Information

Aftercare
There are heaps of aftercare creams you can use. I recommend you use either Dr Pickles which you can buy at the studio or Paw Paw. If you have sensitive skin and need to use another brand let me know and I’ll make sure its ok to use.

When looking after your tattoo please follow the below instructions:

SecondSkin Aftercare

For most of my tattoo I like to apply SecondSkin. SecondSkin is a protective Band-Aid like film that goes over your tattoo and assists in the healing process. In the first 24 hours, there may be a build-up of plasma under the SecondSkin. This is completely normal. If it bothers you you may remove the bandage and re-apply (you can buy second skin sheets from your local chemist). Whether or not you change your bandage, leave it on for an additional three to six days. Once you remove our SecondSkin bandage, keep your tattoo clean and start using aftercare cream twice daily.

Removal of SecondSkin

1.   Peel up an edge or corner of SecondSkin. If this proves difficult, you can attach medical tape to the corner of the film to help lift it.

2.   Slowly pull the film off. Do not pull it straight up away from the skin. Instead, pull the film back and across the skin while holding your skin taut.

You may experience some redness around the tattoo where SecondSkin was applied to the un-tattooed skin. This is also completely normal and may occur with any type of medical adhesive. If you do develop an adverse reaction on the tattoo, discontinue use immediately. If you are left with sticky stuff still over the tattoo in circular motions apply bio oil to the area which will assist in getting this off.

General Aftercare

Glad wrapped tattoo (no second skin)
-I advise to leave cling wrap on until you get home or for no longer than 2 hours. Once home take the wrap off, have a shower and give your tattoo a good wash with a gentle soap and warm water. Do NOT exfoliate or use any rough surface against your tattoo in the healing process. After washing it off pat your tattoo dry with a clean towel.
-Apply a thin layer of aftercare cream morning and night.
-Do not use old or pre used aftercare. Please buy a fresh tube there may be bacteria in old tubes.

-Do not soak your tattoo for at least 2 weeks or until fully healed. If you’re still healing after the 2 weeks do not soak your tattoo.

Please keep it out of baths, beaches and pools until your tattoo is fully healed. Normal showers are fine and you can use any anti-bacterial soap on your tattoo. I recommend having luke-warm showers for the first week and gently rubbing an anti-bacterial soap on it. After your shower please apply an aftercare cream.

-Keep your tattoo out of the sun whilst healing (please keep this in mind when booking your tattoo during the warmer months).
-Do not fake tan. Please do not fake tan the few days before your tattoo and do not apply fake tan for 4 weeks after. Fake tan will irritate your tattoo and affect the healing.

In the rare case you have a reactions to aftercare or any major concerns regarding healing please seek medical attention.

FAQ

Touch Ups

If your tattoo requires a touch up, please let me know as soon as possible. Your first touch up is free within 6 months of receiving your tattoo. To organise a touch up please email me a photo of the tattoo and I will fit you in for a touch up .This is not applicable to hand and finger tattoos which you will receive more information on when booking in for these areas.

Hand and Finger Tattoos
I do not normally take on hand and finger tattoo unless the person is aware of the risks involved. Hand and finger tattoos are prone to fall out. Most of the time they require multiple touch ups and heal blurry. Please do your research before committing to a tattoo in these areas.

Cover Ups/Scarring
The tattoo style that I do restricts what I can do when looking at covering up an old tattoo; therefore I typically do not do cover ups. However I may be able to tattoo over scarring.

Other Artists Work
I only tattoo pieces that I have drawn and will not copy another artists work. I also will not finish off, touch up, or add directly onto another artists work.

Designs
You may receive your design prior to your booking if I feel that I need more collaboration with you. For most designs you will receive your design on the day. Time for minor changes to be made on the day is factored into your booking. Major changes may incur a redrawing fee.
Find my pre-drawn designs on my instagram page ( these designs are one off pieces).

If you have any further questions please include this in your booking enquiry and I will respond to you as soon as I get a chance.
